Hello and Welcome!

quentin | July 10th, 2009

Hi there!  Welcome to the Dog Health Bulletin; a collection of information and advice relating to dogs and their well-being.  After all, I spent 20 years as a veterinary surgeon, specialising in canine rehabilitation- so I know a fair bit about what makets a poorly pooch!

I have been passionate about dogs since childhood, when I first laid eyes on the puppy I would eventually name Greggor.  I fell in love with this tiny, tri-coloured Border Collie the very moment I saw him curled up in his mother’s basket and – after somehow pursuading my parents to let him keep him - we spent many happy years growing up together.  I have never been without a canine companion from that day to this and even look after friends’ dogs when they go away – which takes a lot of energy, let me tell you!

I hope to pass this passion on to you, my fellow dog-owners, in this blog.  Hence, the plan is to start with a series of posts about specific ailments that affect individual breeds of dog.  Hopefully after a few months I’ll have a fairly comprehensive guide to dog health, where the majority of dog owners can find helpful advice relating to their pet.  I will start next time with a few general tips for helping maintain your dog’s health, no matter what the breed.

Read on…and prosper!
